LEAD VAIN (ATOMIC no. 82) compiled by ELMORE JUDD

We've been holding on to this one for a while now, just thought we would let you stew in the magnificence of the first Elmore Judd mix - before we unleashed this monster on your unsuspecting ears. It's in the same vein (no pun intended) as the original mix and features some celestial jams from Nigeria, some heavy fuzz rock from Zimbabwe, Congolese rhumba ... we'll let you listen to the rest.

Look out for future Elmore Judd releases and Dj sets ... follow us

MR.WONDERFUL - promo mix (early draft) compiled October 2007 at Chesca's old place

I found a CD copy of this lying about on the shelves a few days ago. Upon listening to it I couldn't help but cringe in some sections while bumping my head to others. It's a promo CD I did for an event years ago which explains some of the track selections - safety first being the motto ... dated but still pops.

The version uploaded is the original and is slightly rough around the edges - track listing coming soon

KANENG LOLANG for NUTS TO SOUP - compiled Dec 2009

This mix is undoubtedly basking in the glory of cultural schizophrenia.Seaming Roma freestyle, Korean traditional, Syrian prog pop, Tuvan and Bulgarian throat singing, Congolese trance, American spirituals,to 60’s free-form rock and psychedelia, the bitter truths of Ingrid Caven, the extreme freedom of Albert Ayler, the sonic teeth of Yoshimi’s OOIOO,the perverse charm of ODB…Enjoy the ride.

JAY DEE & GILES PETERSON (BBC radio 1) recorded Feb 15th 2001 (produced by BENJI.B) ....classic

I can talk for days about my personal disdain for the I love Jaydee'rs that seem to have popped up from Ulan Bator to Mogadishu since the death of this genius. I shriek with horror at the thought of the countless pitifull events that will be rearing their ugly heads and flyer's from the start of 2010 preparing you for the 10th of February  . . . . but that discussion is for later, I'll wait till February 10th for that. Today or rather tonight I'd rather discuss what I would describe as a classic recording in 2001, when J Dilla visited the BBC studios and had a little session with Giles - I remember listening to this at the time and thinking where the hell did this guy come from, I still think that till this day . . . . . . . . .

cosmixx cover

COSMIXX by FUNKINEVEN & MR.WONDERFUL recorded October 2009

This mix has been doing the rounds on the web for almost a month now - but we thought we'd hold out a little longer before posting, no logic behind it just thought we should hold it for a while. COSMIXX (Sexy future, boogie, soul "n" fusion) is basically everything you'd expect in a mix called Cosmixx (Sexy future, boogie, soul "n" fusion), created by Eglo records bad man FunkinEven and Nuts to Soup's own Mr. Wonderful it is without doubt one of the mixes of the year.
