DOBIE'S RANDOM SELECTION created November 2009 Your prayers have been answered, we've managed to score another mix of randomness from legendary badman Dobie Campbell. Most of you have heard the earlier Dobie mix posted up on the site, well expect much of the same - no holds barred, no rules , just sick tune after sick tune. Even the great man is impressed.

PETROL BATH created by ELMORE JUDD (2009) For this site I clearly have to listen to loads and loads of mixes or compilations to see what I can put up for your listening pleasure, and within the past month I think this is possibly the best thing I've heard. Petrol Bath is the first of two mixes put together by Elmore Judd. It's a blend of deep Latin tinged, psychedelic, African music from the 70's - a music lovers dream. For those of you who don't already know - Elmore Judd are a live band whose music is influenced by a total mix of genre's including jazz, sound track music. noise. kraut, electronic and obviously African music - a continent in which they have travelled extensively for the past three years. Watch this space for more from Elmore Judd.

LTG EXCHANGE - MY LOVE DOES IT GOOD FOR ME (FANIA/WAND 1974) I really don't know what it is about this record, but for the past two weeks its been a permanent fixture on my turntables - I've had this for almost a year now and it's just one that happened to pop up again this week when I was doing a flat tidy - I actually don't think I've listened to it since the day I purchased it. Just thought I'd share it with you all - enjoy LTG Exchange - My love does it good for me (part1&2) (Downloadable)

- I think I might make "song of the week" a new feature on the site.

KRAUTROCK - Cosmic rock and it's legacy (Book launch) @ ROUGH TRADE EAST Halloween is slowly approaching so you may think it apt that this book launch has been penciled in a day before the trick or treating weekend begins - depending on your views of this musical genre. KRAUTROCK (cosmic rock and its legacy) is a book which takes you deep into the minds and workings of revolutionary, post war German musicians. Tangerine Dream, Can, Amon Duul, Kraftwerk, Faust etc If you had the opportunity to watch the BBC documentary on Krautrock then you know what to expect. Dj's on the night Cherrystones and Mark Pilkington - couldn't ask for a better line up. Possibly the best treat I could ask for this weekend.

THE SEARCH PARTY - MONTGOMERY CHAPEL (circa 1969/1970) RAPTURE RECORDS At the risk of sounding like a show off, let me first say that i feel particularly privileged to be one of the less than 2000 people that have a copy of this record. About two years ago on a visit to Flash Back a member of staff had this record on, upon hearing it I didn't pay much attention to it especially because I had my mind set on whatever it was I was listening to on my headphones, but slowly my original choice of dismissing or ignoring the record had to be itself ignored. Anyway cutting the long story short, I asked what it was and was told I probably will never find it, a year later a dealer from Italy told me he had a copy of this in which I let go of £100 or so, £100 a bit steep but not when you know that original presses of the record are going for over a £1000.00 (my copy was repressed in 1994). The Search party is a group of five young immensely talented Christians who created this record to spread the good word. It's a Christian record a Christian folk / psyche record the likes that I have never heard before, and was named after their place of worship (read more to hear track from album)

WE'RE SORRY Apologies are in order for us doing another disappearing act for a week or so - It was due to some unfortunate issues we we're having in the back end. The tech wizards at NTS towers have worked flat out this week to clean out all those cobwebs and we're just about there. There's still a few bugs that need to be crushed, never to return - but for now its all back to business. Thanks Admin Man
